' Your driving test will start with an eyesight check and vehicle safety questions.You will then start your practical driving test which will include some specific manoeuvres'.

' The driving part of your test will last about 40 minutes.Throughout the test your examiner will be looking for an overall safe standard of driving,including when you are carrying out the set exercises.you can make up to 15 driving faults and still pass the test (16 or more results in failure). Ans.Brakes should not feel slack or spongy. Brakes should be tested as you set. Vehicle should not pull to one side.

Q7. Tell me where you find the information for recommended tyre pressures for this car & how tyre pressures should be checked.

Ans.Owners Manual, check pressures when tyres are cold with a reliable pressure gauge, not forgetting the spare, remember to refit valve caps.

Q8.  Tell me how you check the tyres to ensure that they have suffiicent tread depth and that thier general condition is safe to use on the road.

Ans. 1.6 mm tread depth accross the central 3/4 breadth of the tyre around the entire outer circumference with no cuts or bulges.

Ans. Gentle pressure on the steering wheel, maintained while the engine is started, should result in slight but noticable movement as the system begins to operate.

Ans.Operate switch (turn on ignition if necessary), walk around vehicle.(as this is a 'Tell Me' question, there is no need to physically check the lights.)

Ans. Applying the indicators or hazard warning lights & walking around around the vehicle to check, keeping to the pavement side.

Ans.Warning light should iluminate if there is a fault with the anti-lock braking system. (ABS).

Ans.Operate switch (ignition on if necessary), check main beam warning light.
